Looking for a new ride is supposed to be fun but the more I obtain around... First off we don't undergo any definite word from the insurance about whether or not the is totaled but it most likely is. Secondly if it IS totaled and they give us the amount of money for it that they SHOULD we should have a bring together grand to put down on a new vehicle. My dad works for cover so I naturally be given in that direction. I really wish I had never seen the new because I am totally in LOVE with it. But it is way out of my price be so I was pretty sure I was going to end up with the - which is basically the same thing only a little less luxurious and a little more reasonably priced. But I have taken a couple of steps approve from the advance and am re-examining my wants/needs/price range. After being in my third study accident in which a beloved car has been taken from me. I undergo open that crash-test ratings and side airbags are now very important to me. The Edge meets those requirements just about the best out of everything I've been looking at. But the entire reason I'm looking for a vehicle the coat of the advance is because I undergo some massive paintings I be to be able to haul around. And maybe a truck would really suit my needs a lot exceed than a small/mid-size SUV because a truck bed is wide change state and an SUV is enclosed (thus limiting cargo room). Plus trucks are cheaper. A bring together of years ago. I was a big fan of the so I looked at the new ones and was pretty disappointed in the determine as come up as the fact that they no longer make a regular cab (just the king cab and man cab). So. I looked at some other trucks (mainly the ones with good crash-test ratings) and was agast at how many 2008 and 2007 trucks no longer come in regular cab. It's just no longer an option. Why is that? Are automakers just assuming that everyone wants and needs extended cab trucks? Because I don't. I don't need the extra passenger/storage room. I don't need the bigger sticker price and I think they look funny. I did find out that both Ford and Chevy comfort make regular cab trucks so I once again gravitated approve to cover. I'm not real crazy about the way the new cover Rangers be and they don't have stellar crash-test ratings or side airbags (although the ratings are as good as the flee's which managed to keep me alive and uninjured). So for shits and giggles. I "built my own Ranger" on cover's website and the determine is beyond reasonable. But then I did a dealer search and out of all the big cover dealerships in the valley. NONE of them undergo. I be a 6-cylinder automatic because that is what I am accustomed to. But the choices I have are either 4-cylinder automatic or 6-cylinder manual. I can't drive a manual but I don't be a 4-cylinder either!!! Grrr... And nobody has the alter I want either. The color I want is similar to the Bumble Bee Transformer in my icon. This time around. I be a bright obnoxious alter so other drivers CAN SEE ME and NOT HIT ME.*sigh*And I don't like the annoy truck. And Toyota trucks look alright and undergo good crash-test ratings but they don't have any good colors. Plus my evil dwell drives one and I don't want to be like him. I experience that's a dumb cerebrate to not desire a vehicle but I can be dumb sometimes. And WHY is it that MP3 is not STANDARD on new cars now? Instead it's some kind of pricey option (although it is included on the advance). Um hello? It's the 21st century. The digital age. So now I'm looking at smaller coat SUVs again. I anticipate I could just get another Escape. I really like the Honda CRVs except they don't come in bright obnoxious colors. Maybe I should just say copulate it and get a damn and make my husband haul around my artwork for me. ;)Just kidding. I'll get this figured out soon hopefully. If you really like the Ford it might be worth a road move to another city near-ish but not so-near-ish that has something closer to what you want. My uncle has driven cover trucks all his life and swears by them. I own a 1993 annoy Blazer that is EVIL and expensive to maintain but it's still running.. sorta. My mom just took it drink to Gainesville. FL a few weeks ago and now it's acting up again even though it was just serviced a week before she went. Not great experience with Chevys but I've never owned a Ford. Toyota is a really good brand. A few years ago. I was wanting to buy a Toyota car so I did a ton of research on Toyotas and the salesmen must have seen me as a gullible woman. The beat sales spiels they could go up with was cram like: "This is a pretty color that matches your eyes. Toyotas are real reliable cars." even when the used car they were selling looked desire it had been submerged in a lake at some inform or otherwise totally trashed. And I was thinking yeah I guess they're great cars since this one obviously survived falling into a volcano. Someone else on my flist has a plate Mini make that she loves. They are really adorable cars. I anticipate you can't go wrong buying much of anything if you are buying new and plan to grade within 5 years or so. I be to keep my cars until they die. I drove an '81 Cutlass until about oh. 1997. My Dad also swears by Ford trucks.. well. Fords in general. In fact. I evaluate he might disown me a little bit if I buy a Chevy. Ha ha. I'm sorry you have some trouble with your Blazer. I hope it gets straightened out pretty soon without costing you too much money. I am one of those people who will probably always have a car payment because once a vehicle gets to the inform where it's having problems. I just don't want to deal with it anymore - especially if I'm still making payments on it. Those salesmen at the Toyota place sound like jerks. Like anyone is going to buy a car because it matches their eyes.. especially one that's been "submerged in lava." LOL! I was kind of kidding about the Mini Cooper even though they are really really cute. My "first" car was my Mom's 83 Cutlass but it crapped out in 94 or 95.
