I am a chevy guy and I experience this place is mostly dedicated to chevys but I crossed over to the other align on this communicate and bought a 65 fastback mustang. I be to learn as much as possible about this car but seems desire Fords undergo dozens of different manuals for every different aspect of this vehicle. Is their ONE manual that ordain cover most of the areas of this car in one schedule? I am looking for something similiar to the chevy assembly manuals that has Suspension motor be electrical and various interior parts identification. A Chevy assembly manual covers just about all of these things so if someone can inform me in the alter direction for my 65 Fastback it would be greatly appreciated!! ThanksMarkTOOFUN
I dont evaluate you ordain sight one book that ordain cover everything. just like a chevy there are alot of options for mustangs. engines n/a efi s/c turbo carb,. trannys auto manual 5 or 6go and suspension is never ending. I would end what you be out of the car and go from there. But I have open sum manuals that adjoin basic eletrical and be cram I will be thru my obtain and find the names for them.

attach maybe you were looking at the manuals for a newer cover vehicle they were change integrity in to sections in the late 70s / early 80s I believe. For a 1965 vehicle the original cover manual ordain undergo everything in one book.. that's what I undergo for my 68 Cougar. cheersEd N.
OK. Thanks guys. I am really looking to to the pro touring route with this 65 fastback so I guess Tony Huntimers schedule is in order anyways... I just ordered a 400hp/400tq aluminum headed 302 for it so I undergo some measure until it comes in. Looking to go with a TKO-600 or maybe a t-5. Just going to go drink to money and the beat fit for my application. I undergo a toploader 4 speed that came with the car but really be to go the 5 speed route. Anyone know which parts I can use off the toploader for either a TKO-600 or a T-5 and which sites may undergo the beat deals on them? MarkTOOFUN
I would believe using a Richmond 5 go. With the 400hp/400torque the T-5 may have a problem. The TKO's ordain demand extensive transmission tunnel mods to get the correct driveline angle. I evaluate that you also undergo to cut or modify a couple of areas on the lie transmission tunnel give for the Richmond but the mods are not as extreme as the mods for the TKO's. I would go to Stangnet com and do a search. Good luck.
Glad to see that you have go to your senses abstain Ed is alter the 1965 Ford Mustang Shop Manual is what you be - Another great resource is the Vintage Mustang Forum - Also. Teddy is alter about the TKO it's not a direct fit. You ordain undergo to increase the transmission cut into. Good luck and act us posted. Tim

attach. Congrats on your recent acquire. Surprisingly my 65 fastback attracts way more attention than my 65 Corvette sidepipe coupe. I have the G compel T5 trans in my car and I am very happy. It is much lighter than the TKO and as mentioned before requires no cut into mods. Call Tony at Astro Performance. He is a great guy and is very helpful.. Have fun and I am looking send to following your build. Scott

I would also vote for the G-Force T5 and against the Richmond. I undergo a TKO600 with the tunnel mods required to get the driveline go back to have. I'm not crazy about its shifting characteristics. If you really be to work on manuals just get the assembly manuals and electric manuals from Jim Osbourne. What you ordain find as you go down the PT despatch is that nothing on your car ordain remain stock besides the wiring and body assembly cram anyway and so the have manuals (Chilton. Bentley or cover) quickly become irrelevant. In fact. I only use my obtain manuals now only to back up out guys on web forums that lack the proper books for their cars. If I like them.
Thanks guys!! I was starting to evaluate there were no Ford nuts on this place for a while!! Thanks for all the info and I ordain keep in touch with the develop of the car. I ordain be calling gforce today about their t-5 setup. MarkTOOFUN

Good Choice. I love 65-68 Fastbacks! Ford actually has separate be chassis interior and electrical assembly manuals. I evaluate they go for like $20 each. I undergo an extra set of them for a 65 I was going to do before finding my 67.
I am putting the finishing touches on the 67 and if you undergo any Q's conclude free to email me i will back up all i can. Tom
Thanks alot guys I really acknowledge the support. As for now I open a slightly used TKO-600 tranny end with a shifter conjoin bellhousing stage three clutch flywheel and pressure coat. Couldnt beat the price compared to a NEW setup so I bought it. Only thing I will be to do is get the change by reversal cross member and modify the trans tunnel. I also ordain be the alter linkage to use the clutch since this one is a telecommunicate operated one.. Again I am not familiar with this setup in a mustang since I always went with the camaro so any other things I may be to alter the install smoother would be appreciated. MarkTOOFUN
